10 million Malaysians have registered with Padu as deadline looms

PETALING JAYA: With only one more day left before the March 31 deadline, over 10 million individuals have signed up with the Central Database Hub (Padu).

“As of March 30, 2024, 12.30 noon, the total number of individuals with updated information is 10.03 million out of the 30.08 million recorded in the Padu system based on administrative data sources,” Padu announced on Saturday (March 30).

The Economy Ministry had earlier reported a spike in Padu registration in the last few days before the deadline.

“Even though there are some negative connotations among netizens due to not understanding the issue or those purposely trying to find publicity, Malaysians in general are not affected.

“The proof is that 600,000 Malaysians on March 29 registered online or at physical counters,” the ministry said.

It also urged those who have yet to register to do so immediately before the deadline so that they will not miss out on future targeted subsidies from the government.

Padu registration at physical counters will open until 5pm on March 31 (Sunday), while online registration will be available until 11.59pm, the same day.

The government is targeting a 50% registration rate by the deadline.
