Jail sentence on Memorial's Orlov is 'politically motivated', Nobel body says

OSLO (Reuters) – The committee awarding the Nobel Peace Prize said on Wednesday it was “appalled” by the jail sentence imposed on Russian human rights activist Oleg Orlov, one of the leaders of Memorial, who shared the prize in 2022.
